Why You Should Create Your Own Artwork

Why You Should Create Your Own Artwork | Lemon and the Sea: The artwork that you use in your blog or business (or both) matters. It's the first thing that draws people to your site. Instead of using stock images, you should be creating your own artw…

Have you ever seen a website with unique graphics and photographs that fit the brand perfectly? Or visited a home filled with beautiful artwork that you knew belonged there? Whenever I see artwork that seems to fit exactly where it is, like it was made to specifically for that purpose, I'm always inspired (and a little jealous.)

The good news is that you can inspire that feeling in others when they visit your home, business, or blog. It's simple: you just have to make your own artwork.

In addition to the satisfaction of knowing that the art everyone is admiring was created by you, making your own art has some other awesome benefits.

1. You never have to worry about seeing the photo or graphic you're using popping up somewhere and diluting your brand.

2. You get exactly what you want. I often come across photographs that are close to what I'm looking for but not quite right. When I take my own photos, I get to create the perfect image for my idea.

3. It saves money. Yes, you have to buy supplies, but they will last for a long time. Making your own art means you don't have to pay for rights to an image, hire a photographer, pay a designer, or purchase from an artisit.

4. It feels awesome. If you look around my site, you'll see that I use a variety of images, almost all of which I made or photographed myself. Every time I get a complement on one, I can be proud of what I've accomplished.

Not sure where to start when you want to create your own art? I'll be writing about options and will be posting an awesome offer to help you create a brand filled with images you love!
