Put down the mouse and pick up a pen.

For the love of chocolate and all that’s good, step away from your mouse.

The endless tweaking and adjusting that you’ve been doing on your website isn’t working.

Instead of bringing in more clients or growing your business, you’re getting stuck in the perfectionism of exactly how many pixels apart your image and text should be or the exact word you need to convey how amazing your offer is.

But all that tweaking and fiddling is never going to give you results because you’re missing the most important piece of every website design: strategy.

So put down the mouse, step away from your laptop, and pick up your fuzzy pink pen.

Website strategy starts by answering 3 essential questions:

  1. What service do you offer?

  2. Who is your dream client?

  3. What do you want your dream client to do to start working with you?

Answering those three questions will give you the foundation of every design decision you make on your website.

Every page should make it very clear what you offer - no clever names or 100 a la carte options. Choose one offer and talk about it everywhere - headlines, process, keywords, and social media posts.

Then it’s time to get your offer in front of your dream clients. Use their language, write content based on what they’re searching for, and address their struggles. If you aren’t sure how to do that? Research, research, research.

Everything from your images and color palette to your CTA text needs to be tailored to speak to your dream client.

Once you know your service and dream client, you need to determine the goal of your website - the action you want that dream client to take in order to work with you.

That goal determines which pages your website needs, what content will be included, and how you layout your website journey.

Only once you’re crystal clear on the answers to those three questions should you pick up your mouse and start working on your website.

Every decision you make will be filtered through those answers so you can reach your target audience, convert more clients, and have more time to spend watching Legally Blonde and playing with your kiddos.

My new Website Audit goes through every aspect of your website with these answers in mind. I look through every page of your website to make sure that it’s designed to convert the right people into clients who are ready to say “let’s go!”
