Embedding Your Practice Better Booking Information on Squarespace
One of the top suggestions I make to health and wellness practitioners when reviewing and designing their website is to allow people to book their appointments online.
This is especially important if you offer a free consultation as a way to get new leads and want to talk with someone before they become a regular patient.
Instead of making someone call your office, which is probably closed at the times when they are most likely to be searching online for someone to help them address their issues, you can have a calendar available on your website where they can book an appointment with you. This helps your clients because you’re meeting them where they’re at - searching for help at 7pm after a long day of work - and it helps you to eliminate after hours phone calls and interruptions.

Creating and Adding your Practice Better Booking link to your website
Once you’ve started your Practice Better account, it’s easy to allow people to book services or free consults directly from your website with a booking widget.
Get Started: Add a Service and Availability in Practice Better
To get started, you’ll need to make sure that you have a service to book and have added your availability to your Practice Better calendar.
The best option: Embedding Your Practice Better Booking Link on Squarespace
Once you have all the basics set up in Practice Better, it’s time to share you calendar. The best way to do this is by creating a Booking Widget for the specific service you want to highlight and embedding it onto a page of your website. By choosing only one service for the widget, you reduce the friction (or number of clicks it takes to do something) of booking and can increase the number of people that actually end up on your calendar.
You can either embed your Practice Better Booking Widget directly onto the relevant services page or you can create a separate page that holds your booking information and link to it with buttons on your other pages.
A few tips to keep in mind:
If you offer a free consultation, that should be the main call to action throughout your website and should be booked directly through a booking widget
If you don’t offer a free consult, use your initial or onboarding appointment service as the first booking option
Make sure to connect your Google Calendar to Practice Better to avoid any scheduling conflicts outside of patient appointments
You can improve the SEO of your Booking page by adding a headline before the widget and FAQ section answering questions about appointments, your services, insurance, etc.
Another option: Linking to your booking page from Squarespace
You can also link directly to a Booking Page created by Practice Better from your website. This isn’t the best option because visitors will have to select the service they are interested in from the full list of services you offer, but it can work if you use a platform that doesn’t allow you to embed code on your website. If you choose this option, make it very clear on your services page which type of appointment they should be selecting when they get to your booking link.
Everything in this post was done on the free Practice Better plan and paid plans allow even more customization.
