A Style Guide is where you keep the most important information about your visual brand.
A Quick Reference
One of the most important documents that I create for my clients is the Style Guide. It serves as a reference for them whenever they're creating something new for their brand or deciding on brand elements. It's also helpful for projects with other designers (yes, that does happen) so that everything is consistent.
Whether you're getting a Style Guide from your designer or making one yourself, make sure to include these things:
- Brand Colors (with the Pantone or Hex numbers)
- Logo (with logo alternatives)
- Images examples
Having everything in one place will make it easy for you to work on your brand, but is also essential when you're working with someone else, be it a designer, a virtual assistant, or anyone else who may be creating visuals that need to be in line with the brand you have in place.
Promote and Create
If you go on Pinterest and search for Style Guide or Brand Guide, you will find tons of examples of guides that other businesses have created. And adding yours to Pinterest can be a great way to draw people to your business.
It also makes it super easy to set your Styles on Squarespace if you have all that information in front of you.
